Q.) Do I need to make an appointment to bring clothing in for consignment?
A.) Yes, please. This is for your convenience in hopes not to keep you waiting around to long. Your time is as important to us as it is to you.
Q.)Can YOU pick my items up, instead of me bringing them to you?
A.) This option isn't always available and there is a pick up fee of $25.00.
***Current special - AUGUST & SEPTEMBER: Pick up fee is free when available. ***
A.) YES, plastic hangers are required - no metal please. They damage clothing.
Q.) Can I check my account balance over the phone?
A.) No, with the numerous amount of consignors, we require all balance inquiries be made in the store with I.D.(upon request).
Q.) Is there a limit on the amount of items I can consign?
A.) There is no limit but we do ask that accounts be started with twenty (20) or more items. All items must be like new, everything functioning, free of stains & odor. Items must be current within the last two years of style. Some vintage styles may be accepted upon KaTara III consignment's discretion.
Q.) Will a check automatically be mailed to me for sold items?
A.) Yes, once a month and/or at the end of your consignment term.
Q.) Do you buy clothing from people?
A.) YES, on very rare occasions when it is available to us to purchase items.
Q.) Can I use the money I make from consigned clothes towards purchasing items in the store?
A.) Yes, we would love for you to shop with us. Your money is yours to do with as you wish, but please feel free to shop.
Q.) Can I consign wedding dresses or formals?
A.) No, we do not consign wedding dresses or formals, at this time.
Q.) Can I receive a tax receipt for items donated through your store?
A.) KaTara III Consignment does not give a tax credit for items donated. We can have a blank receipt mailed to you upon request from a charity of KaTara III Consignments choice in which we have donated your items to. We do mark items in your inventory as donated when they are removed from the sales floor and donated. We will make every effort to sell your items for you first before we make any donations
Q.) Do you take shoes, jewelry and purses for consignment?
A.) Yes, we do take shoes, jewelry and purses. Women’s shoes sizes 5 & up, Men’s shoes sizes 8 & up.
Q.) Can I retrieve any unsold items before they donate?
A.)Yes, we will try to pull your items for you with a 24 hour notice. We will pull the unsold items as we check off your inventory. If you request a removal of your articles before the end of the consignment time is up, KaTara III Consignment charges $1.00 (one dollar) per article pulled to the consignor and will be deducted from the account before pay out.
Q.) Do you take children’s clothing for consignment?
A.) No we don’t take children’s clothing.
Q.) I have some very expensive items I would like to put on consignment. How do you price items I bring in?
A.) Our policy is to tag at 1/3 to ¼ of the original price. This depends on the condition of the item, if it still has new tags on it,how current and how much of a demand the items are. If an item is unique to our area, from a specialty boutique, etc. we will always appreciate you telling us what you paid new for the item. If we don’t know a price we will do our best to find the value of the item. There is unfortunately a cap on what items that will sell for in a consignment shop, please understand.
